A Traditional Kamidana for Honoring Ofuda
The “Tsumugi” Kamidana Set provides a complete and accessible way to establish a traditional Shinto altar at home or in the workplace. Designed for those who wish to respectfully enshrine an ofuda (Shinto talisman), this set includes the essential elements required for kamidana worship.
At the center of the set is the “Tsumugi” three-door roof-style kamidana, crafted in Japan from Tōnō hinoki (Japanese cypress). Hinoki has long been used in shrine architecture for its natural fragrance, durability, and symbolic purity.
The shrine features a traditional three-door design, with the central compartment intended for the main ofuda and the side compartments for additional talismans. The removable rear roof panel (ura-yane) allows larger ofuda to be placed inside the shrine with ease.
With its balanced proportions and low-profile structure, the Tsumugi kamidana is suitable for modern homes, apartments, and offices while preserving the appearance and spirit of traditional shrine craftsmanship.
